| The young Proudfoot (Bill Milner) lives with a family religious devotion, and that tells you not to associate with hoodlums. It comes through the local bad boy at school, Lee Carter (Will Poulter), who wants to make a Son of Rambow film and enlists the help of the Will. It sees "First Blood" and falls in love with Rambo, and his story centers on being the son of Rambow rescue and give a bad scarecrow. As the boys continue to make the film, which gradually become friends, and then finally kinsmen. But when a French exchange student named Didier (Jules Sitruk) comes to town, becomes the center of attention, and included him and all his friends in the movie, ostracism Lee, who becomes angry and bitter toward Will. After an accident, but the reality of children the true meaning of friendship and what it really means to be a brother. "Son of Rambow" shows again the innocence of youth, what it means to be a child and demonstrates the value and longevity of the friendship, even when they are in the most unexpected places. A truly excellent film, with stellar performances, one that should not be missed. |
| I had high hopes for this Son of Rambow Comedy because I grew much time in. I also wanted to send a Son of Rambow Comedy film of "Screen Test" (80, a DVD film Son of Rambow in the UK for children's TV with a slot for films made at home) but I did not get to see Sly and sewing up eating snakes arm until much later. I am glad to say that did not disappoint at all. The performances were wonderful (especially young drivers) as well as having more than its fair share of laugh out loud moments, there is a genuine warmth and emotional truth in this story of friendship, growth and flying things. I really hope "Son Of Rambow" is the success it deserves to be. |
| When I saw the trailer for this movie, it seemed another corny British comedy. The DivX Movie Son of Rambow itself is much, much better than that, as someone has said it feels more like a movie: Son of Rambow by Michael Gondry. Very idiosyncratic, quirky and confidence in what we do, with many strong-a-laugh moments. What I liked most of all was the manner in which some very good themes and subplots innocently began to fit with the history, never feeling contributed, or too sentimental. There were some details that the great writer / director opted to suggest or imply anything without going overboard - an experience that allows much more than the usual warm and clear in the British approach clunky screen writing. He was excellent. This DVD film Son of Rambow will appeal to many, many people for different reasons - I just hope we are encouraged and inspired enough to go and see him. I hope that word of mouth makes this Son of Rambow Comedy the justice it deserves. Go see it! |
| I do see this movie. You must, must, must see. I do not know if it was released in the United States yet. Maybe you can rent it. Remember the name, Son of Rambow (2007) remains my shirt stained with tears of laughter, sadness and joy. For if I had to sum up in one phrase that I would say the DVD film Son of Rambow is about you and your best friend first. That you wanted more than any other one and you will never forget. It is a mixture of Stand By Me, Pan's Labyrinth, and his own childhood. Takes place in 1980 and Britain are two kids trying to make your own version of Rambo First Blood, with a VHS camcorder. It was complete with Pop Rocks, Flock of Seagulls hairdos, and Boom-boxes. It is a magical and wonderful film. I have not been moved by this movie: Son of Rambow in a long time. Really, really enjoyed the unconventional comedy, acting, direction, screenplay and cinematography. If I had children, I do see. |
| It helped that I had been warned to expect something a little more important than just a parody of Rambo (apparently suggested by the trailers and buses, advertising), which is probably why my flatmate's boyfriend did not enjoy it. That does not mean, however, that kids do not enjoy this DivX Movie Son of Rambow as much as my friends and me. It follows similar themes to "Stand by Me" (the classic starring River Phoenix), such as loyalty and camaraderie childhood, but in a typically understated British humor, quirky comedy, and some good references to the years 80 Great Britain. Genuine laugh out loud moments, poignant and instructive, and can also be appreciated as a well-made Son of Rambow Comedy movie with good acting, dialogue and direction. |
| This DivX Movie Son of Rambow just screened at the Film Festival in Florida in Orlando, FL. The crowd applauded, cheered and laughed throughout. This should be a great success if it has a wide release in May. I loved the fact the DVD film Son of Rambow was set in the mid-80s when I was a student in high school. The soundtrack of the Son of Rambow Comedy film was fun with Depeche Mode and successes cars by Gary Neuman. Besides, I swear I saw members of the band Travis in a scene shot in the staff room of the school. I think the DVD film Son of Rambow is equally rewarding for both children and adults and will also be appreciated by all who love the art of cinema. Honestly, can not imagine anyone not moved by this small and funny movie. |
